A RESOLUTION URGENTLY REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (DepED) THRU THE SCHOOLS DIVISION SUPERINTENDENT OF CEBU, DR. SERENA UY, TO RETAIN THE SERVICES OF MS. FELISMINA PILAPII, AS OFFICER-IN-CHARGE (OIC), DISTRICT OF LILO-AN.

WHEREAS, the entire Lilo-anon community were alarmed and was practically grieving over information that the Officer-In-Charge of the Department of Education, District of Lilo-an, Ms. Felismina Pilapil, will be transferred to the town of Tudela in the Camotes Island (please see attached petition for retention);

WHEREAS, all the more alarmed, in fact terribly worried, over the impending transfer are the municipal officials in whose less-experienced shoulders lies the broad responsibility of hosting this year's Provincial Sports and Academic Competition — an approach to educational development that is DepEds by tradition;

WHEREAS, the current year's hosting chores was accepted by Lilo-an on the bases of assurances for help from well-meaning institutions and individuals, and on the understanding that veteran educators from the local District — foremost among them Ms. Felismina Pilapil — will be actively involved;

WHEREAS, as district officer-in-charge and counting on her numerous exposure to and willing participation in various sport and academic competition, Ms. Pilapil was made an active fixture in all meetings and planning sessions for this year's event — a state of things that showed her indispensability to a successful staging;






WHEREAS, on its face, Ms. Pilapil's treasure trove of wisdom out of a long and dedicated service would make for a valuable partner in the LGUs thrust of promoting educational excellence — finding in this level of quality a weapon as potent as anything in weaning the poor from their desolate condition;

WHEREAS, modesty aside, the Municipality of Lilo-an, under the present leadership, had already invested so much to educational advancement in this part — either thru its own resource or as an aggressive conduit of external source — for it to be left out in the selection of such significant post as district supervisor;

NOW, THEREFORE, on joint motion of all the Members present, the Sangguniang Bayan

RESOLVED, to REQUEST, as it is hereby URGENTLY REQUESTED, the Department of Education (DepEd) thru the School's Division Superintendent of Cebu, MS. SERENA UY, to RETAIN the services of Ms. Felismina Pilapil as Officer-In¬Charge (OIC), District of Lilo-an.
