MAYOR Vincent “Duke” Frasco made it one of his campaign slogans to prioritize education, and this is exactly what he has been doing.
His administration has set aside funds for scholarships but because he wants more students in Liloan to benefit from the allocation, the municipality set aside granting full scholarships.
In the end, at least 50 deserving students were chosen, with the released financial aid pro-rated according to their economic status and course being taken, among others.
Mayor Duke is aware that the assistance being given by the municipality is not enough. With his penchant for solving issues with out-of-the-box initiatives, an appeal is now being aired for friends of Liloan, or Liloanons abroad, to help the scholars.
