The Visayas PAGASA Regional Services Division (VPRSD) welcomed the Liloan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), headed by Atty. Hammurabi Bugtai, together with personnel from different Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) teams, and Municipal Mayor Hon. Aljew Jordan Frasco, who actively participated in the facility tour on August 27, 2026.

The learning visit provided the Liloan MDRRMO and BDRRM teams with valuable insights into weather monitoring, forecasting, rainfall observation, early warning systems, and other weather-related facilities and equipment. Through the tour and discussions, participants gained a better understanding of how PAGASA’s monitoring and information services support disaster preparedness and timely decision-making at the local level.

The group also experienced a special Planetarium Show, offering an engaging journey into the wonders of our atmosphere, Earth, and the Universe.

The visit highlighted the importance of timely and accurate weather information in strengthening disaster preparedness and response efforts at the local level. Through continued collaboration between PAGASA and local government units, we can further enhance community-based early warning systems and build safer, more resilient, and weather-ready communities.
