Two weeks ago, our @liloanyouthorganization officers presented me the Plaque of Recognition from the Cebu Provincial Government Social Welfare Office awarding Liloan as one of the Ten Outstanding Youth Organizations in Cebu. In 2016, Liloan's Youth Organization was also awarded number 1 in the Province of Cebu under the Cebu Provincial Government's Sugbo Kontra Droga Program.
Recently, one of the key legislations I deemed a priority agenda was passed by our Sangguniang Bayan: the Ordinance creating the Liloan Youth Commission. This Ordinance effectively ensures the protection and continuity of our programs promoting youth empowerment and development, giving the youth a permanent place and an assured voice in local governance not only in my administration but in administrations to come.
Having been in government for over a year now, there have been times when I have felt jaded and depleted. Working with the promising and hardworking young people of our 7,200-strong youth organization continues to give me hope on days where hope is dim. Their idealism inspires me to forge forward as we work towards our goals for inclusive and sustainable development in Liloan.
