Some days, you ask why. Some days, you ask why not.
Giving up my nearly decade long career in law to enter public service was difficult, to say the least. Spending less time with my kids has been even harder. Looking back at your former life becomes especially nostalgic on days (like this) when you are hammered down with the endless stream of paperwork, beaurocracy, negativity, and the machinations of politics.
But every once in a while, a letter arrives in the mail, or a message appears on messenger...and on days when you need it most, you remember why, when “two roads diverged in a wood”, you took this one.
