Yesterday, I inspected the SUBA BRIDGE to follow up on the progress of construction and learned that the concrete bridge is now 60% complete. Its completion will once again allow faster direct access from the National Highway in Tayud and Catarman into Poblacion.
As I reiterated the need to finish the bridge at the soonest possible time in order to alleviate traffic, the DPWH and the Contractor, DUROS, reaffirmed their commitment to finish the bridge by the third week of October 2017.

Meanwhile, for the past three weeks, we have implemented the Traffic Management Plan in the National Highway, and have also carried out clearing operations on illegal obstructions. We have made some headway into traffic alleviation and this is due to everyone's cooperation.
