In the afternoon of July 20, 2015, OWWA Administrator Calzado, POEA Director Larga, TESDA 7 Regional Director Urdaneta and DOLE 7 Regional Director Sarcauga likewise signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the Convergence Program for OFWs with the Municipality of Liloan, Cebu represented by its Mayor, Hon. Vincent Franco D. Frasco at the Mayor’s Office, Liloan Municipal Hall, Liloan, Cebu.
Liloan is one of the top 10 municipalities in Cebu Province with the highest number of OFWs based on OWWA’s latest statistics of OFW-members.
DOLE 7 Regional Director Exequiel R. Sarcauga commended LGU-Liloan for being very active in implementing employment programs to the people of Liloan and he is hoping that this will be sustained with the implementation of the Convergence Program for OFWs. Mayor Frasco highlighted in his speech that LGU-Liloan has been supportive in the efforts of promoting the welfare of the OFW sector. Through this MOA, he is optimistic of a more harmonized and effective delivery of programs and services to the OFWs and their families in their locality.
The MOA Signing was likewise attended by the Municipal Councilors of Liloan and covered by ABS-CBN Cebu.
