"LILOAN GRANTS SCHOLARSHIPS TO 2,734 STUDENTS
Today, the Municipal Government of Liloan granted over Php 6 Million in scholarships to 2,734 high school and college students in need.
This program started during the administration of former Mayor Duke Frasco during which time over 6,000 students benefitted from scholarships.
Today's distribution is especially meaningful to us considering that in the run up to the 2016 elections, the scholarship program became the target of political machinations from the opposing camp resulting in the filing of frivolous and malicious cases against Duke.
Politics should have no place in the education of our youth. We have and we will continue to fight for this scholarship program, and we thank our fellow Liloanons for the mandate given us to do just that.
Sadly, I could not join in the distribution of scholarships today as I am now nearing the seventh month of a rather sensitive pregnancy, and my doctor has required me to be on bed rest. I am grateful nonetheless for the opportunity to see this program through to this day and to ensure that in Liloan, education continues to be our number one priority.
Congratulations to all our scholars, and Godspeed on all your academic endeavours!"
