On the morning of September 2, 2026, PMSg Comeros conducted an Information Drive on Anti-Bullying, the Anti-Drug Campaign, and Active Assailant Awareness for the student leaders of Arcelo Memorial National High School, located in Barangay San Vicente, Liloan, Cebu. The activity aimed to provide the student leaders with relevant information and guidance on the prevention of bullying and illegal drug-related activities, as well as proper awareness, preparedness, and response during an active assailant situation.
During the discussion on Active Assailant Awareness, PMSg Comeros emphasized the “Run, Hide, Fight” response framework. The student leaders were reminded to Run to a safe location when a safe escape route is available, Hide in a secure place when escape is not possible, and Fight only as a last resort when faced with an imminent threat to life. He also emphasized the importance of remaining calm, maintaining situational awareness, and immediately notifying law enforcement or emergency authorities when it is safe to do so.
As part of the activity, PMSg Comeros conducted a short demonstration on basic defensive measures and safety procedures during an active assailant situation. The demonstration focused primarily on personal safety, situational awareness, and appropriate emergency response, while emphasizing that physically confronting or attempting to disarm an assailant should only be considered as a last resort when there is an immediate threat to life.
The activity further sought to strengthen the student leaders’ sense of responsibility, promote vigilance, and encourage them to become responsible and proactive members of the school and the community.
